Before your appointment

Tattoos are extremely hard on the body, some tips to keep in mind to ensure a productive and safe tattoo appointment:

-Regularly moisturize your skin as this will make it easier to tattoo and provide a more efficient recovery

-Eat before your appointment, bring along food or sugar for longer sessions to maintain your bodies homeostasis

-Sleep well the night before

-Do not consume alcohol or drugs

After care

The way tattoos are cared for short and long term can be the difference between watching a tattoo fade away or having it look as good as the day you got it. Instructions and tips to make the most of your tattoo;

-Get plenty of rest, in the few days after your appointment sleep will provide you the best relief.

-Keep the bandage on until your tattoo stops feeling sore or tender (usually 2 - 4 days, no more than 5)

-Moisturize with unscented body lotion if your tattoo is dry or flaky (moisturizing a tattoo regularly can prolong it’s lifespan)

-Avoid pools and other bodies of water for the duration of the healing process as they contain large amounts of viruses and bacteria that can cause infection.

-keep physical activity to a minimum for the first week, this will let the body prioritize the healing of your tattoo and reduce its exposure to pathogens.

-The majority of the healing is done within the first 2 weeks but it often takes up to a month to be considered a fully healed tattoo. Try to be delicate with your tattoo in this time as it will be very sensitive.
