Comments on the artwork

Sister piece to “pretty on the outside hollow on the inside” this artwork is a true tour de force of such a flexible canvas and is mediated by an equally as intricate subject matter. Named “the evil that men do” this artwork takes significant influence from the animated film Interface, an adept story of dystopian future realized only by the sheer gall of man and extortion of those misled and misunderstood. A captivating woman is shown suddenly bound and encircled by figures trying to instill one uncanny message: you are safe beneath watchful eyes. With clothing inappropriate for circumstance, aggressive bindings and an anonymous metallic worm wrapped intimately around the message instilled becomes one of exploitation, injustice and disservice. Masterfully done line work perfectly encapsulates every moving part of this canvas and with pops of warm pastels creates a trademark grunge cyberpunk aesthetic.
