Comments on the artwork

This is Demon Slayer’s Mitsuri, a world class samurai and one of the pillars of light standing in the dark world of lawless human-devouring demons. With each Hashira commanding a certain element under their prowess, Mitsuri is the chosen pillar for love. But even as an oracle of love and affection she herself has fallen victim to the softness of her compassion. A spear has been sent flying through her chest, interrupting her stride and tragically piercing her heart. This piece intends to cleverly speak on romantic intricacies with its secondary elements, a dire scene that’s contradicted by soft, unaffected facial expression, sensual cascades of hair and seductive poise. It’s almost as if she was ready to suffer this fate that she’s bestowed to so many others, that she knew it was coming and found some sort comfort in its going. A vivid execution of feelings we can all sympathize with, this artwork graciously commands its presence within this collection.
