Sister piece to “your heart is pure, but your mind is tormented” this matching artwork takes inspiration from the renowned early 2000’s cartoon Adventure Time. A mostly lighthearted children’s show that, on it’s surface, is just a series of silly and heroic adventures, slowly develops one of the most sinister and saddening plots of its class, harboring an antagonist with one single-minded diabolic goal; to destroy all life. This artwork takes this tale and brings it a step further into its wickedness, containing overgrown horns that pierce the bearers skull, a demonic tongue slithering into control of the index, and streaming tears highlighted alongside gnashing teeth. Further conveying themes of darkness and insanity, while also introducing ones of purpose and painful remorse, this introspective piece with its exalted lighting techniques and lovely choice of color adopts a new allegory and takes reverent position next to it’s other half.
